The film captures an elderly lady, as she recounts the milestones in her life. In a dispassionate voice, she lists events that relate to her various responsibilities and experiences. The lady, while reflective, looks back without passion or sentimentality. These events, though personally very significant, are often limited by geography. As she finishes the list, she mentions the next big milestone she is about to embark on. That's her first trip to another country. At which moment, she picks up the suitcase and leaves the room.
The idea behind the film was to use real senior citizens, not actors, and build a story based on their life experiences. The casting process did not take place in one place, but we took our cameras into the homes of seniors to interview them, listen to their experiences and find the right face and story for the role. The lady featured in this film is not an actor. She was picked after meeting many senior citizens. This is the first time she had ever faced a camera or entered a studio.
