The film captures an old gentleman, as he recounts the milestones in his life. In a dispassionate voice, he lists events that relate to his various responsibilities and experiences. The gentleman, while reflective, looks back without passion or sentimentality. These events, though personally very significant, are often limited by geography. As he finishes the list, he mentions the next big milestone he is about to embark on. That's his first trip to another country. At which moment, he picks up the suitcase and leaves the room.
The idea behind the film was to use real senior citizens, not actors, and build a story based on their life experiences. The casting process did not take place in one place, but we took our cameras into the homes of seniors to interview them, listen to their experiences and find the right face and story for the role. The gentleman featured in this film is not an actor. He was picked after meeting many senior citizens. This is the first time he had ever faced a camera or entered a studio.
