The Japanese public, well-known for their love of a dip in a hot spring bath, combined with the brand new stimulus of an amusement park, became the “Spamusement Park Project.” Starting with a YouTube concept video, in which the city mayor pledged to make the park a reality once 1 million views were reached, the world’s first hot spring amusement park was announced, attracting more than 12,000 paying customers during it’s limited 3 day operation.
