The Campaign

Childhope and Tactiles have come together to develop Street Cubes. A simple and fun board game designed by educators and technicians to teach teens about basic electronics. The more they play with Street Cubes, the more they learn about electronics. This knowledge could help them get vocational training, which lead to better jobs.

Creative Execution

The game uses interlocking blocks to represent how different circuits work. To play, the cubes are linked to an app. The app contains a series of projects, and each project requires a certain set of cubes. The goal is to finish the project by connecting the cubes in the right sequence. Street Cubes contains over 100 quizzes and games that were created to cover the whole K12 curriculum on electronics. By the time they finish, the children will have confidence in their technical literacy. This could lead them to seek professional careers.

Since pitching our project through Give.Asia, we managed to receive a $5000 commitment from an interested corporate sponsor. This alone is enough to create 23 sets of street cubes, and can provide technical education to a batch of 70 children. With more support, we’ll be able to give more children hope for a better job and a brighter future.

Street Cubes was designed from the ground up by electronics experts and educators with a goal of democratizing science learning. It uses tactile materials that are linked to an app to teach electronics fundamentals in the simplest and most engaging way possible. By making technical literacy accessible to street children, Street Cubes gives them the opportunity and the ability to seek professional jobs in hopes of sparking a brighter future.
