Choice Hotel’s “Need A Break?” campaign is an ode to the office worker. It’s a somewhat fantastical look at an office thrown into turmoil as the workers have finally had enough of the monotonous 9-5. It begins with a feud between a male worker and a stapler, the unbearable repetition of its crunch wearing away at his sanity. The stapler is launched across the office, setting off what becomes one almighty and destructive chain of events. Desks are flipped; mugs thrown; fire extinguishers used like baseball bats, to demolish water coolers; workers fall through roofs and photocopiers are set on fire. It’s a symphony of chaos. It’s one very visual reminder, of what life could turn into for the unsuspecting office worker, who is well overdue for a break.
