Singapore: Inside Out was a showcase of Singapore’s creative talents, aimed at introducing new perspectives of the city beyond that of an efficient business city. In celebration of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, the showcase travelled to Beijing, London, and New York, before concluding in Singapore. Architectural firm Zarch designed a visually-arresting and intricate lattice of scaffolding – most commonly associated with a state of construction – symbolising Singapore’s unceasing strive for progress and its continual state of development. The structure was hardy, reusable and adaptive to various spaces. Its porous exterior drew passers-by into an immersive environment – part exhibition, part live performance and part participatory – to rediscover Singapore from “inside out”.
