Brief Explanation

Challenge was to illustrate an image of a versatile, multifaceted brand into a space of 1200mm x 2100mm. Key objective was to capture the eyes of the MTV viewers, clients, media & marketing partners and to resonate with them.

The Brief

To create a banner that represents the essence of MTV. To create a brand banner that effuses the cool, honest, relevant & edgy image.

How the final design was conceived

MTV is the multi-media entertainment brand that represents every youth generation since its first appearance in the early 80s. Whatever generation it may be, MTV is ‘My MTV’. It’s personal and reflects ‘ME’. Drawing on that, MTV created a banner which represents the current MTV generation, who has a multi-figure digit of friends on Facebook but at the same time is a solitaire with a myriad of personal worries and hopes for the future and who carefully selects and listens to the music which portrays his true identity.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The banner received positive feedback internally and externally from the interpretation of the current MTV generation. . It was displayed at the major MTV, Partner, Trade events throughout the year.
