Objectives -To develop an innovative and cost effective concept for Bonsey Design's 15th anniversary event -To create an appropriate title for the event -To project one look across various touch points such as brand communications and merchandising -To project a unifying and quirky communication message across all materials Challenges -Production and logistics. Ensuring that the invites were feasible enough to be mailed because of the nature of the contents i.e. rock sugar.
The Bonsey Design Partnership turned 15 last year and decided to host an event to celebrate this milestone in Clarke Quay, Singapore on the auspicious date of 080808. 500 invitations were sent out to industry leaders, partners, clients and supporters regionally across Asia.
As crystal is the traditional 15th anniversary wedding gift, we thought it was an appropriate theme that could expand to the various communication materials. Hence, the Cr15tal event title was born. The invitations were the first touchpoints for our recipients so we needed an invite design to instantly translate to the Cr15tal idea when people received them. Rock sugar crystals were individually packed in a re-sealable plastic pouch as a mock "medicinal prescription" treatment for brands with dysfunction and disconnection.
A total of 200 guests attended this lively event and the response to the Cr15tal idea was well received. The uniqueness of the invitation that was far from conventional sparked curiousity, grabbed attention and translated in a witty/quirky way. Shot glasses were handed out to everyone as our thank you gift. Its multi purpose nature functions as a "cough syrup measuring cup" to be used when brands often become dysfunctional, while also serving its original purpose as a fun shot glass memorabilia. Overall a wonderful evening to remember with a fun concept to match!
