Brief Explanation

We see 2 men, neighbors. They live next to another. They are seen always competing about their collections. Anything and everything about Italy. They are seen bragging how many stuff they have, how they get the items, but none of them have been to Italy. They are united by McDonald's burger and share their happiness munching the burgers together.

Execution

The original script was about two street vendors arguing about who had more Italian things to sell. But the director turned it around to be a mockumentary about two neighbors trying to outshine the other with their passion for all things Italian. Instead of the usual way of creating a role and filling it with a talent that fits the brief, things were done the other way by finding talents with strong personality and character and creating the role around them. For example, after seeing the old actor with his personality, the thinking behind the wardrobe was to think about Old Wiseguys from Mafia films, and those types of guys who work for the mob, are usually dressed in tracksuits. In the end, there were two characters - the Modern Italian vs the Classical Italian by a younger man and an older man who’s whose rivalry, is brought to screen.
