The film is about a Man who is reminiscing about his childhood life, how he was fond of prawns, big prawns, and how he always went to see the prawns through fish-tanks. His Mom - being a very modest duster street-seller - could not afford to buy prawns for him, so she kept trying to take him away from watching those big prawns. However, she saved her money as it is saddening her every time she saw him looking at the big prawns. And one night, he was surprised to see 3 big prawns were cooked and ready for him to eat. He did not know his Mom used up all the savings for the prawns. His Mom let him finish everything and told him to wash hands afterwards. He was stunned seeing his Mom munching the prawn leftover and she said to him "This is the best part."
We were looking for dark skinned talents to make them believable as people living near sea and that the Mom spends her days a lot under the sun as she is selling duster on the streets. The Boy: the Director has used the boy in a previous ad in Indonesia but he was just an extra that time. So we called him again for this film. The Mom: the casting team ran casting sessions and the talent for the Mom came for the audition. We selected out of few candidates. The Mom and Boy looked very much connected when we asked them to workshop together.
