Is the smart watch really a watch for the future? It’s true that the smart watch can do a lot of things like telephoning, taking a picture, and accessing information with an internet connection, but it has never developed the most fundamental function of a watch, “ticking time”. From ancient times, humanity has forever consumed time at the same pace. However, people feel time differently in accordance to their mood. For example, fun times pass quickly, yet boring times lag forever. Similarly, time passes differently from person to person. Time passes quickly for people when having fun, yet time lags for bored people. Is it really the only option for humanity to use this traditional time? We believe that the watch for the future must be something that renews the definition of time, and that’s why we developed a brand new watch “Another Watch” which provides us with a redefined time.
We developed a brand new watch “Another Watch”. “Another Watch” is the world’s first watch that shows the time in accordance to your mood. With a built-in action sensor (3D acceleration sensor), “Another Watch” tracks your activities and automatically tells whether you’re having fun or feeling bored. Time moves slowly when you’re enjoying your time, whereas time moves forwards quickly when you feel bored. For example, when you are excited or drinking, “Another Watch” will know that you are having fun and will be in “fun-mode” in which time moves slowly for you. On the other hand, when you have nothing to do or you feel everything is slow, “Another Watch” will know that you are bored and will be in “bored-mode” in which time moves forwards quickly for you. So, you will be more satisfied with the way you spend time Since “Another Watch” ticks differently from person to person, time differences may occur, for instance, when couple’s are out on a date.
To increase the accuracy of action tracking and mood determination, we are now talking to some companies with brain-wave sensing technology, and similarly, pulse sensing, pulse wave sensing, sweat detection sensing, and other biosignal sensing technologies. Aside from increasing the accuracy of "Another Watch", our goal is to redefine the perception of time. There might be a time in the future where people will live off of their “personal time” and a lot of things in the society will change based on this new concept of time. For example, a paid per-hour job would disappear, and students would spend their time differently from others in accordance to the preference of study so there would not be a classroom where all of the students have the same lesson for the same period of time. Since each of the people would live off of their personal time, some problems in society like crowded trains in the morning or traffic jams might also disappear. We believe "personal time" will shift the structure of society with the potential to enhance the betterment of humanity.
