Brief Explanation

Chinese mythology has 3 characters on the moon… After taking a potion for immortality, Chang’e flew to the moon to become a goddess, the Jade Rabbit by her side and Wu Gang was condemned by the heavens to eternal chopping of an Osmanthus tree. But this age-old myth was broken by man’s landing on the moon. Inspired by the same spirit of adventure, Taipan Snowy Mooncakes boldly defied the 800-year concept of the traditional Mooncakes… Since its launch in 1989, Taipan Snowy has altered the deeply-rooted concept of Mooncakes for the Chinese. Our ad story – called “A Visionary Man” – not only highlights the significance of Taipan’s innovation, it also illustrates the “Spirit of Hong Kong”. The story begins 25 years ago, when a romanticist was bold enough to bring home a box of Taipan Snowy – deemed an act of “deviance” by his family. Similarly, Taipan walked alone on the path of innovation before gaining public recognition. Throughout, the ad plays a classic Cantopop hit song also launched in 1989 called “Who Can Understand a Loner's Heart?”, conveying that Hong Kong people must dare to achieve their goals.
