The ads make stoners question their ability to drive by seeing their behaviour through the eyes of the real experts on stoned behaviour: the shopkeepers of New Zealand. Each ad features the kind of places hungry marijuana users go: a bakery, a Chinese takeaway and a convenience store. Even though the ads are anti-drugs they’ve been embraced by stoner culture in New Zealand. Lines of dialogue from the ads have since become vernacular speech among the audience and it’s got them talking about a subject they’d previously rejected.
