76 years ago, Singaporeans loved the only broadcaster on the island. They turned to the one voice, MediaCorp, for all their news and entertainment. They had no choice. Over the years since, with new providers bringing in world-class programming, this 'love' started to wane considerably. Forgetting local productions is easy when you have HBO, Fox and the like. So if MediaCorp couldn't compete on quality, what could they compete on? The answer lies in variety (across media like newsprint and digitally) and the fact that it is the only free-to-air station - meaning unbridled accessibility. And telling this story in a way that lets Singaporeans reminisce about a relationship that once was helped make Singaporeans give their first love...a second chance.
