Brief Explanation

It’s still dark when Alex is woken by his alarm. He’s careful not to wake his wife as he climbs out of bed. He shaves, puts his clothes on, picks up his workbag and heads for the front door. As he’s about to leave, he thinks for a second and turns back. He doesn’t want to go to work without seeing his baby daughter. He tiptoes down the hall to her room and gazes lovingly at her, sleeping peacefully. Emotion wells up inside him – a father’s instinctive urge to protect and provide.
