Brief Explanation

The Great East Japan Earthquake drove Japan to the depths of despair. Many valued lives were lost, and many hard-earned assets and industries were destroyed. Japan seemed to have lost everything, including all hope. However, in the middle of that despair, the people of Japan felt a new light shine upon them: the friendship of the people of the world. At a time when no one could predict when the next earthquake or tsunami might strike, people from around the world chose to stay in or to come to Japan, and to risk their own lives for the victims of the disaster. This awful tragedy showed the people of Japan just how much the rest of the world loved them. Commissioned by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York, this video is an expression of thanks from the victims in Japan to those heroes from around the world.
