Featuring: Sid Lucero As The Dad | Other Credits |
Even with over 10 Million Filipinos already working overseas, away from their families, millions more aspire to do the same to provide a better life for loved ones. However, the promise of a better life sometimes comes with a price. The physical distance from their families sometimes results to emotional distance. Sid, a young father shares a ritual with his 4 year old daughter, Yanna, wherein Sid prepares a glass of Lactum 3+, a bonding activity for them. When Sid receives confirmation for a 2 year contract in Dubai, he has mixed emotions. He is happy for the opportunity to earn, but, he is also sad because he has to leave his family. Two years pass and Yanna begins to emotionally detach from her father. As she grew up without him, they grew apart. When he comes home for Christmas, instead of excitedly welcoming home her father, Yanna seems to have forgotten their closeness and even physically withdraws from him when he attempts to hug her. That night, as the father is alone, his daughter approaches him, and without a word, hands him an empty glass. It’s time for their special ritual again. Their bond was never broken, after all.
