With the start of operation of the full length of the Kyushu Shinkansen, the "JR Hakata City" will open for business in Hakata Station on March 3, 2011. It will mark the moment of a change of the reason d'etre of Hakata Station to be a "new landmark of Kyushu". "DIG! HAKATA CITY" is a campaign website with the concept of rediscovering the charms of Hakata. When one keeps digging, the townscape of Hakata grows a little at a time, becoming more lively.
