Research revealed an interesting insight when we were launching Garnier Pure 3-in-1 anti-pimple wash: teenagers feel loneliest during pimple outbreaks. They wonder, “Why me? Why not someone else?” So we created a way for teenagers to do what they can’t do in real life: the chance to “pass on” their pimples online. The result was “Holy Zit!”, a Facebook App where users can vandalise their friends’ pictures with whacky pimple characters. Outperforming expectations, in 3 weeks, our brand new Facebook page welcomed over 2,000 new fans and 8,000 monthly active users, who shared over 400 public pictures for free products.
