Doritos launched 2 new flavours and let consumers decide which one survived. At the website you could join the battle and vote for your favourite flavour. The task was to get people to re-engage with the website. So once you had voted for a flavour, you would then be sent a threatening video from the opposing side. This personalised video dragged in photos from Facebook and Google Earth to really make the point… “we know who you are, we know where you live and we know who your friends are”. Impressively 38% of all people who received the email with the link to the video re-engaged with the website.
