Under the pandemic, the Japanese voluntarily stayed home. All events were cancelled, and for children, it was turning into a year with hardly any memories. This was an opportunity to provide children with something they can remember. This was the first newspaper ad that would allow children to participate in a TV anime story. On September 4, Doraemon’s birthday, there was a surprise birthday party for him, that everyone could attend from home. On August 30, five days before the birthday, a newspaper ad designed as an invitation from Nobita, Doraemon’s best friend, appeared. (57 words) The newspaper ad invited children to gather in front of the TV at 6:56pm. With space to write in whether they will be attending, interactivity was added. The children were able to write in their reply to the invitation as well as their birthday message to Doraemon, and tweet this using #DontTellDoraemon.
