We took popular Indian influencers and celebrities, who were instrumental in shaping India's cultural landscape in 2021 and added them into fan favourite, iconic moments of Netflix content in 2021. With state-of-the-art VFX, we sent India’s biggest crypto influencer into the Money Heist bank to deposit a cheque. A reality show superstar, famous for getting ousted from the Bigg Boss house, shared her grievances with the Devil himself. A Bollywood hero, who wanted some chicken in India’s biggest ever Netflix show, got stuck hunting for eggs in Red Notice. And an actor turned saviour, who rescued thousands during India’s Covid 19 lockdown, stepped into the Stranger Things universe to save the children of Hawkins. All to rev up the fandom for Netflix’s unexpected line-up of content for 2022.

On the internet, trolling is every fan’s favourite pastime. So when Netflix wanted to take a look back on 2021 and set the stage for the year ahead, we decided to speak their language. We didn’t just flashback to our biggest hits, we trolled them. Bringing plot lines from the real world into ours. From a real life superhero rescuing the kids from Stranger Things, to Bollywood’s favourite gangster playing the big bad in Red Notice, we brought every meme to life and showed our audience that we had plenty of surprises in store for 2022.

The film opens to a scene from Squid Games where we see the characters licking the cookie. First, we see the actual footage, all the players trying to lick their way to the umbrella. But as we pan through the faces, we land on one, that just doesn’t belong. Nawaz. He’s wearing the same green jumpsuit as everyone else and is licking away. But then he stops, looks around confused and says “Can I get any other flavours or what? Something sweet? Something spicy? Anything?” We cut from here to our title slate. Supers appear with fast paced music that reads. We cut to the scene from Dhamaka where the Counter Terrorism officer is in the studio with Kartik Aryan. But instead of the cop, it’s Biswapati Sarkar as his iconic Arnub character. Kartik Aryan shouts, “So tell me… How will you catch him?” Arnub hears this and screams even louder right back at Kartik, “No, how will you catch him? Kartik also ups the volume, screaming again, “How will you catch him?! But Arnub will not be outdone, he also shouts as loud as he can, “HOW WILL YOU CATCH HIM?! Come on, let’s try again. Come on. We cut from here the scene from Jagame Thandiram where you see Suruli sitting on the chair, but opposite is Tanmay Bhat. Tanmay says to Suruli, very seriously, “Sir, I’ll tell you where to put your money. Crypto. Best investment, sir. Suruli tries to keep a straight face but bursts out laughing. Suruli gets up from the chair and walks off as he says, “This isn’t working. I’m leaving now.” Tanmay also stands up with him and looks stunned. We cut from here to the scene from Money Heist, where the guns are trained on a man walking into the mint. But, instead of the bespectacled man, it’s Tanmay, dressed like a perfectly normal middle class man. As he’s walking in he says, “I just need to deposit a check, bro. ” One of the robbers responds, “Leave everything on the floor.” Tanmay replies and says, “the cheque too?” He awkwardly pulls the cheque out of his breast pocket and places it down. Just then the robber shouts, “close the doors.” Tanmay smiles at this as if he’s quite impressed and says to no one in particular, The robber finally says “follow us”. Tanmay whispers to the guard next to him, “Ummh you mind if I Vlog this?” Without waiting for an answer he pulls out his phone and holds it up taking a video of himself. As we switch to the shot of them all walking away from the camera, we hear Tanmay looking into camera and loudly shout, “Hi guys, this is the Hostage Vlog…” His voice trails off as he walks away. “They have guns too…” We cut from here to a scene from Sex Education. We see Otis and Maeve entering the principal’s office. But on the chair behind them, is Sima Taparia. She smiles at Otis and Maeve as they walk over to the principal’s desk. Principal: Sit down. Don’t worry, you’re not in any trouble. Sima pipes in, through their shoulders. Sima: We just want to see you two happy together? We cut to the teacher. Principal: Is that something you’re wanting to pursue? We see Sima aunty intently listening in to the two of them. Maeve: We sort of stopped being friends. We grew apart… Sima pipes in again. Sima: Friendship can come after marriage. We cut to the principal. Principal: That’s it. We see Sima aunty pipe in again. In between Otis and Meave’s shoulders. Sima: Dear, believe in destiny. Otis and Maeve get up to leave. Sima shakes her head in disappointment. Otis: Ok. Thankyou. We cut from here to the scene from Lucifer where Lucifer and Chloe Decker are sitting on the bed. But instead of Chloe, it’s Shehnaz Gill of Bigg Boss fame. She’s crying, much like her famous crying session on Bigg Boss. She says, sobbing, “I cried so much.. And I still got voted out. ” Lucifer comforts her and says, “oh no no no, you can’t blame yourself.” She continues sobbing and says, “Salman Khan also told me the same thing” We cut from here to a scene from Mimi, where Kriti Sanon is being questioned by her family, who is the father of her child. Supriya Pathak: Tell us who the father is! Tell us! Kriti Sanon points and standing there is Sonu Sood looking surprised but then weirdly happy about the news. Sonu looks fully confused and taken aback and says: Me? Cut to Kirti Sanon: Yes you only got me into this mess. Cut to Sonu Sood in his apologetic tone rants “ It’s not my child. But their education, scholarship, EMI, car loan, Home loan, mutual fund… and vaccination. It’s my responsibility! We cut to a scene from White Tiger . Behind Rajkumar Rao and Adarsh Gaurav, Shenaz Gill is also standing there. She glances up at Rajkumar and says, “I haven’t seen Radhika Apte in a while. Rajkumar replies. Rajkumar: ‘Yeah, she’s coming back. I can feel it.” Adarsh: “I can feel it too, sir.” Shenaz leans in a little closer and whispers to Rajkumar, And Nawaz? We cut to the scene with Gal Gadot grabbing the egg off the pedestal. Just then, someone walks in. We dont know who yet. Ryan Reynolds says, “hold on, don't shoot.” As he says this we cut wide to reveal Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson on the floor but instead of Sotto Voce looking down at them, it’s Nawaz, dressed garishly like his outfits from Sacred Games, flanked by his two bodyguards. Reynolds says, “we didn't try to steal your egg, ok. She got it.” We show Gal Gadot holding the egg. We switch to Nawaz, who stares the three of them down and says, “I don’t want the egg. I want chicken. Chicken. We cut to the mall scene from Stranger Things Season three where we see the gang at the mall. The scene opens to a chunk of the mind flayer hopping along the floor, instead of Hopper’s shoe squishing it, we see a sports shoe. We cut to Eleven and the gang looking up dramatically. But instead of Hopper, we see Sonu Sood. He stares with intensity. Sonu says, “Alright, I guess I’ll save you too.” We cut back to the kids, who look shocked and amazed.
