The daily lives of students training hard in various club activities suddenly came to stop. The animation features high school students under frustration after the cancellation of All Japan High School Sports. The animation depicts how each student “explodes passion” while preparing themselves and struggling to overcome hurdles in a limited time, to participate in the competition that is to be held first time in two years.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

In Japan, there is a national competition, All Japan High School Sports, where every high schooler dreams of participating in, to demonstrate what they have achieved in three years of club activities. Many students were left heartbroken when the competition was cancelled in 2020 because of COVID-19 pandemic.

Tell the jury about the animation used and summarise any relevant challenges or techniques.

We intentionally used various artists so we could express the “festive mood" and "heat" better. Our mission was to portray the feeling of momentum, passion and sweat, rather than simply making a beautiful animation. In order to achieve that feeling, animators with various styles were featured in the project. The control and direction of the animation were completely left to the animator in charge of that specific section.
