The 'Find Your Speed' film gives a brief explanation of the differences between types of distance runners and how the two most advanced running shoes are built from the ground up to fit those needs. While reading titles, the viewer sees the construction of the shoe in a quick, energizing, combination of premium visual and sonic communication.
ASICS has a 70-year history of industry leading research and development at their Institute of Sports Science in Kobe, Japan. Over the years they've pioneered advanced understandings of how runners differ and addressed these differences in providing proprietary advantages for runners through their product designs. The learnings have shown that some runners extend their stride while maintaining and even running cadence, they're called 'Stride' runners; while others increase their cadence, they're termed 'Cadence' runners. This film brings the results of this research to life through CGI builds of the shoes, showing close-up views of the materials and construction, while providing a basic understanding through titles.
The sound design of this film was considered very early in the process as it was clear that the film's success depended on bringing to life, what could be thought of as fairly dry content, an engaging synergy of sight and sound. The sound design team worked closely with the agency, director, and editor in developing a style and sensibility that would pull viewers in, while rendering the content more interesting, meaningful, memorable and even inspiring. The aim was to bring to the film a clean, modern, energetic sonic aesthetic which would become one with the visuals to create a unified dynamic experience.
