Write a short summary of what happens in the film.

Lone Rider follows a savvy adventurer who roams the tough Australian landscape atop his trusty vehicle, with nothing but his wits and the world’s most durable engine oil by his side.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

There is nothing simple about driving through the remote, dry outback of Australia. The road conditions are dangerous and can change on an almost daily basis. Our film sees the Lone Rider driving across the harsh landscape through differing climates; unpredictable storms, relentless flies, scorching heat and did we mention the flies? You need an unwavering strength to be able to take on those infamous conditions.

Tell the jury about the ambitions & challenges of production process.

Production on The Lone Rider was a strenuous undertaking. A huge challenge was finding a desert location that was visually conveyed a desolate, empty apocalyptic future. This meant transporting all necessary resources to an otherwise uninhabited location. Then there was the challenge of creating various weather states, which required simulated travel environments - a difficult task to match material gathered on location. Finally the design of a custom car was required, to give our Lone Rider's vehicle character. Ensuring the safety and functionality of such a vehicle, as well as its appealing design, was a huge effort on the part of the production team.
