If there was one thing that travellers across India craved throughout the pandemic, it was to vacay at the beach once again. Once the restrictions eased, we stepped in to make every beach vacay plan see the light of the day. 'Chal Beach Chalein' is a fun take on leaving behind the dreadful WFH life which has been haunting us for months and making new memories at the beach. The tone of the film is inspired by our everyday FOMO and failed/postponed plans due to the pandemic and makes you want to pack your bags right away and book an OYO.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

Right after the national lockdown was lifted and travel restrictions eased across India, winter was around the corner. The most preferred travel destinations during winter are beaches but people were hesitant to travel again. ‘Chal beach chalein’ is a soothing track that echoes the slow and pleasant vibe of beaches with ocean sounds. After being trapped at home for several months, this track is like a breath of fresh air that tells you to escape to sunkissed beaches. The visuals present a middle path (also known as ‘beech’ in Hindi and sounds similar to ‘beach’) between the monotonous work from home life and the laid-back beach life with foaming waters, funny hippies and linen Bermudas. This is represented by the intersection in a Venn diagram which is common in PowerPoint presentations. The lyrics also refer to relatable things from the lockdown life like work pressure and binge eating.

Tell the jury about the creation of the original music track.

We strung together consumer insights about how the lockdown life looked like and crafted the lyrics around relatable facts. The music is not high-paced but mellow, Konkani tunes with occasional ocean sounds. The lyrics nudge the listener to give in to ‘her plea’ and escape to the beach at once.
