With the release of the new Godzilla movie, BOSS, a canned coffee company that is a "buddy of working people," has released a tribute ad, visualizing the true story of a filmmaker who created a filming technique called "TOKUSATSU" to create Godzilla in Japan in 1954. The story of how Godzilla, one of Japan's most famous movies, was made into a 60-second film.
In the 1950s, movies were the single greatest source of entertainment for the Japanese people who were battered by World War II. Godzilla was the first Japanese movie to make it to Hollywood, and it is still a very popular movie with new releases in the US. The commercial is based on the true story of when Godzilla was first created in 1954, and is a tribute to the filmmakers who learned from Hollywood's film technology and tried to create Japan's own unique special effect technology "TOKUSATSU". The advertiser, BOSS coffee, is loved in Japan as a "working person's buddy". This commercial is a crystallization of the respect that Boss Coffee has for all workers and filmmakers.
