The film flies in the face of the conventional approach most airline brands took when the world reopened for travel. Instead of inundating people with rational information to reassure them about travelling, the film makes the magical and distinct feeling of flying with Singapore Airlines visceral, capturing how the flying experience from the moment travellers wake up to when they step onboard will be seamless and weightless. Throughout, five travellers literally take flight and elegantly perform gravity-defying stunts as they fly through every step of the journey, depicting how Singapore Airlines removes all the burdens and complications weighing heavily in people’s minds as they travel again. And as the travellers make their way into the plane, they’re once again greeted by the welcoming warmth Singapore Airlines is known for – sending the world a message of how much we looked forward to seeing everyone in the air again.
By looking into how travel has changed over the last two years, we realized that despite travel restrictions easing up, travelers were feeling increasingly uneasy. Even therapists were seeing spikes in people experiencing travel anxiety given how troublesome travel has become. Gone were the days when people would just jet off without any hesitation. Because while flying was one of the things people looked forward to the most, the fear of travel being more complicated and stressful than ever also weighed heavily on their minds. That’s why we gave travelers a taste of the feeling they miss the most – the freedom and weightlessness of flight.
