Gucci Art Wall, a project to replicate selected art works by hand-painting to appear on the street. The team select Yong Kang Street in Taipei, a commercial area acquiring rich culture heritages. The area is famous for gourmet hunting due to it witnesses the lively cultures brought by immigrants. The reserved residential building from Japanese colonial period, army troops villages, college professor's dormitories to homes of artists and famous writers makes Yong Kang Street a very special place for locals and tourists. Settling Gucci Art Wall in this area, a wall painted by the master of movie billboard painter, creates the ambient to surprise passes-by that triggers social check-in and sharing; the wall is located at the heart of Yong Kang Street which connected to a small park where tourists enjoy bubble tea on the bench, the scenery best explains the campaign spirit: encounters the local cultural.

Cultural/Context information for the jury

Yong Kang Street: the historical area included in Kang-Qing-Long cultural district in Taipei(Yong Kang, Qingtian, Long-quan street) is well known for home of Ding-Tai-Feng Xiao Long Bao, the famous steamed dumpling in Taiwan; tea houses, mango ice, beef noodle, cafe and various restaurants are popular for locals and tourists. The street is also surrounded by religious headquarters, education associations; it's also a street frequently mentioned in literature works as most of the writers/professors live in this area that creates the artistic connection to the district. Movie Billboard Painting: The industry is almost gone as the printing technology progressed. In the past, the cinema hung up movie billboards by hand painting, the art could be creative to add on the theme and hint for the movies, which is hardly be seen in modern life, however, a very special memories for the locals.
