Write a short summary of what happens in the film

During Martial Law, thousands of young men and women were abducted and killed. But the young people in the Philippines, know nothing about it. Because they were not born yet when it happened. So history will not repeat itself, Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses to Malacañang (CARMMA), told the stories of young people killed during Martial Law. We brought back from the dead a victim of Martial Law to tell her story. Her name is Liliosa Hilao, a 23-year old student journalist who was killed and tortured by the police, days before her graduation.

Cultural/Context information for the jury

Martial Law is the darkest chapter in Philippine history. Thousands of young men and women were abducted and killed. But the young people in the Philippines, comprising 46% of the population, know nothing about it. Because they were not born yet when it happened and their school textbooks omitted facts about human rights violation during Martial Law. What if, we brought back from the dead the first Martial Law detainee to tell her story? 45 years after her death, Liliosa Hilao talks about the horrifying torture and unbelievable abuse that she experienced in the hands of the dictator’s police.
