Even those unfamiliar with Vienna found our 3-minute "Vienna Visual Trip" movie fascinating. The first half presents a lone female traveler exploring the city, while the second half shows the city’s many attractions through her eyes, including some of the world’s most beautiful cafés and libraries, masterpieces in the Art History Museum, Schönbrunn Palace and St. Stephen's Cathedral, a world heritage site.

Cultural/Context information for the jury

Many Japanese are unfamiliar with Vienna’s diverse attractions. Others are deterred by its strong association with classical music and opera. Vienna doesn’t even rank among the top 20 destinations of Japanese traveling abroad. But Japanese who have visited the city rank it among Europe’s top three. To encourage more Japanese travelers to visit Vienna – on ANA’s new direct flight from Tokyo that launches in February 2019 – we strove to inform Japanese of Vienna’s beautiful historic center, a World Heritage site with museums, opera houses, palaces, churches, cafés and restaurants all within walking distance of each other.

Even before shooting the movie, we created an original music soundtrack as a base for visual editing. This music expresses the surprise and excitement of travelers and becomes more emotionally uplifting towards the end. In many scenes, we juxtapose quick cuts and mellow music for a captivating impression.
