Steelcase is a leading designer and manufacturer of office furniture and workspaces. The Series 1 is a highly versatile task-chair that can be delivered in nearly endless color options. The storyline and structure of the film follow the message of “ Designed to fit: Anyone. Anywhere. Any task.”, while at the same time showing the multitude of color options and intuitive adjustments. In a playful and fast-paced film, we see how the chair can fit any person, regardless of body shape, how it can fit into any environment, reflect any brand, and support any task throughout the workday. To further enhance the message an original soundtrack was created using a very special instrument – the chair itself.
The Series 1 was developed with the Asian markets in mind. With the high cost of office and often cramped workspaces, the small footprint is highly attractive to office managers and business owners, while the colors, flexibility in use, and intuitive adjustments bring comfort to people who spend long hours at their desks.
Can a chair sound like a guitar or drums? Can the pulling of armrests, clicking, scratching, snapping and tapping the frame create a melody? By recording adjustments of armrests, backrest, and height etc, a soundtrack was created. It not only brings flow to the film but also subtly enhances the message of flexibility and the ease of use as well as Steelcase's brand promise 'Love How You Work'.
