The Brief

Problem Number One: Central Vietnam suffers from severe floods 4 months a year. Since 2011, 817 people have drowned. Problem Number Two: 300 billion plastic bottles are discarded a year globally, putting a strain on our environment. As a responsible corporate citizen, Nutifood has in their previous CSR programs donated supplies during the floods, and actively played its role in reducing plastic waste into the environment. This year, Nutifood combined its two CSR efforts into one activation program.

Describe how the promotion developed from concept to implementation

We came up with an inexpensive innovative idea that combined Nutifood’s two CSR efforts into one. We produced the Plastic Bottle Life Vest. The Plastic Bottle Life Vest proved to the people that Nutifood is a caring corporate citizen that innovates solutions to make their lives better just like the products it produced for the people. And Nutifood helped to encourage people to recycle plastic bottles.

Describe the success of the promotion with both client and consumer including some quantifiable results

Villagers at flood-prone provinces like Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Quang Binh used to fear for their lives when the floods came. With the Plastic Bottle Life Vest, the villagers are now equipped to protect themselves better. And by recycling plastic bottles, they also play a part in helping Nutifood to save the environment.

Explain why the method of promotion was most relevant to the product or service

The Plastic Bottle Life Vests help save lives during the flood seasons, and each vest uses 12 empty 500ml plastic bottles for flotation. With every 1,000 life vests, we helped recycle 12,000 plastic bottles.
