People start to realize that by giving streets children money it wouldn't help them at all. And other good thing is donations to the fund increased by 250% and IABRI was able to liberate 150 more children off the streets than the year before. What started as a simple collection box has the power to generate funds for education. Giving hope and a future for thousands of street children.
We created, a different kind of collection box. It was placed in 12 key location in the city where child beggars are abundant. On the box, people also can find flyers provided information on various education programs approved by the government. The collection box is shockingly demonstrating what happen to streets children when people giving them money. In front of the machine is a photo of a child reaching out for your help. As soon as the coin drops, it reveals the other coins into prison bars. The message reads : Every coin you give will ... ....TRAP them on the streets. Learning a life skill can set them FREE.
In Jakarta, child beggars on the streets are growing at an alarming rate, about 58% annually. People have a mindset that by giving them money, it would help. Instead, the more they received, the longer they stay trapped on the streets. So, how can we get those children off the street? IABRI, is a government organization, believes that education is the solution.
