Only the best concept art would make it as a RS India Cover; a piece which seamlessly reflects not only the ethos of a magazine that has meant ‘music’ to generations of music lovers but also its unique understanding of India’s cultural landscape.
Rolling Stone India was coming out with a celebratory Third Anniversary edition. They sent out an open brief to the finest designers and art directors across the country to make a Concept Cover, which captures the soul of the iconic magazine and the spirit of India, the country.
It is the 3rd anniversary of Rolling Stone and it is a riot out there. The design attempts to capture the essence of this celebration of music. It's a veritable explosion of people and things in a state of absolute exhilaration. People dancing and rejoicing; joined in equal measure by stars and hearts. In the middle of all of this is a 'heart burst' of Indian motifs; very much a part of the celebrations. The words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROLLING STONE" are engraved as a part of this collage of celebration. Letters of commendation to the editor of RS India by prominent individuals: Dear Editor, While one of the reassuring aspects about Rolling Stone India has been its consistently internationally look and feel, this time you have truly raised the bar.
