Brief Explanation

The challenge was not only to create a pack that would be aesthetically a good design but also to somehow make the pack interactive. A pack that would not be just chucked away after the use instead would be kept as an art piece.

The Brief

Cupid Condoms, a fairly popular brand in India, wanted a packaging design for all the variants of condoms that they manufacture. The brief was simple: Make it stand out.

How the final design was conceived

Pleasure comes with variety – be it an assortment of condoms or positions. So, we created a pack of six assorted condoms with six different art styles, viz Manga Art, Renaissance, Indian miniature, Classic comic, Pixel art and Negative pop art. When played with, the package illustrates a combination of 26 erotic poses to form an interactive device. It leads the user to see different positions and different styles.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

We hoped the users would put the packaging to good use. And not just play with it like it were Rubik's Cube. On a serious note, the first-ever assorted pack of condoms in the Indian market was a success. Sales went up by 30% and the illustrations also made their way onto single packs.
