The story starts with three vegetables, Tai-Kor Pak Choy, Doofus the Carrot and Cutie Tomato, tending to a dying Bobo Brinjal. At his last breath, Bobo Brinjal passes on a map to Tai-Kor Pak Choy that leads the way out of the old refrigerator to a brand new Mitsubishi which uses led light to maintain the freshness and life of vegetables. Tai-Kor Pak Choy leads the trio through a gauntlet of obstacles to finally reach the Mitsubishi Refrigerator. VHQ’s team worked closely with Lins Advertising to ensure that the humor of the story and high visual quality of this spot was achieved towards world class standards. On top of that we really had to put efforts in the art direction, character design and scene blockings. To achieved humor, timing of the expressions, we went through many expressions tests and previsualisations internally. A parallel pipeline also was used in 3D production whereby animation, modelling and lightning can be done at the same time. Even then a unique look for the characters was achieved where a soft look was still evident for the vegetables.
