Thousands of animals are abandoned with the SPCA Singapore every single year, and the organisation needed a way to raise the plight on this issue. A large trash bag containing a mechanism that looked and sounded like a cat was placed in high-traffic areas in Singapore. When pedestrians passed by, the ‘cat’ moved and meowed in the bag, eliciting curiosity and intrigue. A tag revealed that 7,678 animals were left at the SPCA in 2009, and suggested various ways to prevent unwanted animals. This ambient execution helped SPCA enjoy an increase in enquiries on pet adoption.
