We created and displayed a poster and postcards featuring Braille at an event. A list of Braille words was placed next to the poster to help those looking at them to decipher the messages.
Our client, Mr. Abdin, represents a non profit organization, the Committee for Assisting and Promoting the Education of the Disabled in Sudan (CAPEDS), and is himself visually challenged. His challenge was to promote understanding among the physically unimpaired and establish better communication so that visually challenged people could receive educational support through Braille and be able to function as part of society.
The campaign was designed to start communication by getting visitors to the event to take interest in the Braille poster and promote some understanding of the visually impaired, through the experience of actually reading Braille.
For the client himself and the visually challenged, the project created an opportunity to get physically unimpaired people to take interest in and have a better understanding of the visually impaired through Braille. The project allowed physically unimpaired people to realize that Braille is not only a communication tool but also visually arresting and interesting, as they deciphered and learned Braille as if playing a game. At the same time, this helped them to have better communication with the visually challenged.
