In Hong Kong, air pollution kills three people every day. When air pollution settles on a car window, it’s so thick that you could write your name in it. On the Clean Air Network’s microsite, users wrote their names into a virtual cloud of smog hanging over a map of Hong Kong, cleaning up the pollution with their signature. By doing so, they signed an online petition. Collectively, their signatures cleaned up a large portion of the map, showing how individual efforts combine to make a powerful difference to the problem of air pollution.
