Students perceived HKU SPACE as a distant choice. We needed to connect with prospective students to drive early admission applications. We provided students with a community (Facebook application) to discuss upcoming exams and gave each other support during those nerve-wracking tests. By inputting their exams schedule into our calendar, students connected with their Facebook buddies taking the same exam, located their exam halls, received email/SMS reminders and discussed with others and shared exam preparation tips to cheer for each other.
