Brief Explanation

"Visit Sri Lanka 2011" is an online community and social media campaign executed on behalf of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Board (SLTPB) to promote Sri Lanka as an untouched and exotic travel location. Strategy focused on creating a viral loop that educates and engages audiences through awareness raising (via Social Media tools) and content rich and socio-interactive online community sharing (via online community). Leveraging along other digitally interactive elements, the marketing campaign reached about 54,000 online users in 3 months. SLTPB reported a 48.5% growth in tourism numbers between Jan-May 2009 and same time period in 2010.
