Humans have been polluting the sea and killing the creatures within. Yet, the world still fails to see that the product of their indiscriminate dumping of rubbish is the cause of the ailing sea and the death of its inhabitants.
The project aims to draw the immediate co-relation of man’s actions and the death of sea creatures.
An exhibit made up of the myriad rubbish collected from the sea and on the beaches. On its own, it looks like any ordinary pile of rubbish. Once a light is cast on the rubbish from an angle, the projected image displays a shadow of a dead sea turtle and a stark reminder of how small pieces of insignificant rubbish can snowball into a plague that brings death to the sea.
The exhibit was displayed in schools, colleges and marine-related events like the Asian Divers Expo 2010. Used as a talking point in environmental efforts to save the sea, WWF has won over many young minds and members of the public to do the right thing to protect the sea and Mother Nature.
