Despite many of the women magazines in Japan concerning men's view in fashion and beauty, VOGUE JAPAN has gone beyond the fields and has provided new value and ways of being a women to the world. Many messages were delivered that inspired women in Japan to redress social values facing them, such as gender, age, appearance, lifestyles. We believe that VOGUE JAPAN’s unchanging brand philosophy is all thought into their words. We adopted the idea of creating graphic art that makes use of the "cover headline of the past 20 years".
Stop being, just cute. Women need adventure. Shine, with passion. Be strong and beautiful. How about strong women? Charming someone? Go all the way. There’s no stopping, to be feminine. It’s okay to say, “I’m beautiful.” Still worried about your age? Be forever young. Imagination changes the future. Don’t be afraid and be strong. Transcend, at times. Be free and grand. Throughout VOGUE JAPAN’s 20 years of publication, their cover titles have consistently represented the messages from VOGUE JAPAN. Believing that these words embody the enduring brand philosophy, the idea developed was to use 20 years of actual cover titles, working them into copy to encourage today’s women. The resulting graphic maximizes typography and art direction in the spirit of VOGUE.
