耳で聴かない音楽会= Sound-Free Orchestra (Concert Name)
The posters visualized the most prominent feature of the ‘Sound-Free Concert’ to “experience the orchestra through hands”. We used the insight that music are sound waves that travel through the air, eardrum and to the rest of the body. We expressed “experience the orchestra through hands” by making each piece played in the concert into a visual of their sound waves. The sound waves were cut out using a laser cutter and projected onto hands with light. In black-and-white, unique to orchestral scores, the contours of the hands were photographed against a beam of light to create the feeling of warmth and progressiveness with a touch as if they are an illustration.
