Travel, at its heart, is a sensory experience. It takes us out of our familiar surroundings, and into environments which are entirely new and different. In a series of short vignettes, we watch as different travellers experience new sights, sounds, smells and flavours, in a variety of locations. We then reveal the starting point of this journey: the enhanced Business Class from Cathay Pacific. Inside the cabin, we catch a glimpse of the new features – from the delicate Hong Kong flavours of the dinner menu, to the luxurious cotton bedding by Bamford. Because the sensory experience doesn’t just begin when you arrive at your destination. It’s an intrinsic part of the journey from the moment you step onboard. The enhanced Business Class from Cathay Pacific. Let your senses guide you.
Cathay JCL ‘Let your senses guide you’ 80s FINAL Open on a young woman standing on a windswept mountaintop. VO: They say travel broadens the mind… But why stop there? Now we’re inside an upscale hotel suite. A man arrives with his luggage, and stares out the window at the city below. VO: Why not broaden the palate? A night market stall. Intense heat off the wok as the flames leap up into the air. Ice into a cocktail shaker, shaken vigorously. Then a ruby-red mixture poured out into a frozen glass. VO: Go on. It can’t hurt. A man digging into a bowl of dumplings with gusto. The chili hits the back of his throat, his face fires up bright red, and sweat pours down his brow. VO: Open your ears… A young woman sits peacefully in a bamboo forest. VO: … And your eyes. And the mind will surely follow. A man approaches the edge of a rocky outcrop. We see him dive into the water below. We then see a young couple fast asleep in a luxurious-looking bed. VO: Wake up those lazy bones. The world awaits you. A runner striding through an urban landscape in the very early morning. VO: Wake up and smell the orchids. Or the roses if you like. An indoor flower market, brimming with colourful orchids. A woman slipping into an onsen-style bath, filled with rose petals, steam billowing up off the water. VO: You might see something you’ve never seen before. Next we see fireworks lighting up the night sky, as a young boy looks on in wonder. VO: Hear something you’ve never heard before. The sound of street buskers – a pulsating percussion beat. A woman drives by the scene, looking out the window curiously. VO: Even if that’s complete and utter silence. Then in a short montage, we glimpse some of the characters from the earlier vignettes, ending with the young woman on the mountaintop. VO: Your journey will take you many places. Both far, and wide… But here is where it all begins. We then move inside the Business Class cabin. We see the same woman, leaning back in her seat, a glass of wine in hand. We flow through a series of moments showing passengers enjoying some of the new enhancements in Business Class. A spray of refreshing Hydrating Mist. Steam rising from a fragrant bowl of noodles. A man curling up under a cosy-looking duvet. VO: The enhanced Business Class from Cathay Pacific. Let your senses guide you. Super: Let your senses guide you Cathay Pacific Move Beyond
