ALDI Christmas has Santa replicate himself eight times to put on a joyous water performance. It’s a heady mix of synchronised swimming, Busby Berkley water ballet and classic humorous pool antics. Full of good humour and grandiose flourishes, ALDI is a sequence that begs the question “how did they do that?" Ambition married reality in the offline edit via meticulous multi layered composite images of a single performer retimed and restructured to produce a seamless illusion.
