Write a short summary of what happens in the film.

The film begins with suspense, holding back the reveal of the new LF30 concept car. Letting the engine rumble slowly drawing in the viewer with anticipation. Then as we get going, we smash cut explosive transitions and quick cut sequences. With spectators not being able to physically attend the 2020 Lexus Melbourne Cup, Lexus wanted to create an extension of the senses, and bring the experience of race day to the viewer at home. We wanted to take the viewer on a sensory rollercoaster showcasing all the different ways Lexus is electrifying the 2020 Melbourne Cup.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

The Lexus Melbourne Cup is Australia's most famous annual thoroughbred horse race.

Tell the jury anything relevant about the edit. Do not name the editor.

Through smash cuts and explosive transitions we explored different rhythms, contrasting textures, and a combination of rich and vibrant images. We used extreme close ups, to make the viewer almost taste and touch each scene. We wanted the imagery to draw out the sense of exhilaration that you get going to the races, as well as the thrill of driving the new LF30 concept car. Having a good ear and sense of rhythm really helped enhance the visual story. We were able to control the pace of an edit, make the viewer feel the highs and the lows, draw emotion, and steer reaction to get the desired response. This all launched with the hero film 'LEXUS ELECTRIFIED'
