Write a short summary of what happens in the film

In this “dap workshop,” a broad range of Kanagawa Prefecture residents gathered for an energetic studio video shoot. Men and women, members of the LGBT community, elderly persons, teenagers, children, amputees and wheelchair users, down syndrome patients and others formed pairs and pioneered their own special approaches to the dap style of bumping and touching in rhythm with background music. The song for this endeavor was a funky version of respect by the legendary aretha franklin — originally a sacred anthem for civil rights, feminism and other global movements, the new arrangement has been given a fresh update for the modern era. The rap was written and performed by “shing02,” a legendary Japanese rapper recognized for his “left field” approach to merging different musical genres for greater variety. His lyrics provide a fruitful sound guide ensuring equal enjoyment by visually impaired individuals, ultimately delivering images rich in “diversity” and “inclusion.”

Cultural / Context information for the jury

Sponsor Kanagawa Prefecture experienced japan’s single largest murder case – the “yamayurien incident” of 2016. a former employee of this prefectural welfare facility for the mentally challenged entered and stabbed 19 residents to death. Incredulously, the attack triggered numerous anonymous postings on social media and online bulletin boards expressing support for the killer. The Kanagawa prefecture governor sensed that a trend of hate toward minorities or persons with different attributes, along with the emergence of negative energy was occurring in japan and around the world. Announced in response was a prefecture-wide quest for diversity and inclusion (d&i). As the manifesto for realizing this “d&i” doctrine, the governor declared the transition “from hate to respect.” This is based on the premise that “people are all different,” effectively engineering the shift toward a society where hate for minorities or those different from oneself changes to respect for diversity.
