Write a short summary of what happens in the film

The Frog Prince (青蛙王子) is a short film that commemorates Qing Ming Festival (or Tomb Sweeping Day) and its spirit of remembrance. This is a story of a boy who grapples with material temptations and low self-esteem; and his father, who has nothing to give except priceless life lessons and morals that the boy would inherit for good.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

Qing Ming (清明节), or Tomb Sweeping Day, is a traditional Chinese festival during which families pay their respects to their ancestors. Today, many Chinese in Singapore still observe this occasion. The film was inspired by a Chinese saying, “木有本,水有源”, which translates as “every tree has its roots, every river has its source”. It highlights the spirit of honouring the values imparted by our parents that shape who we are today – including our everyday habits and the choices we make.
